IS MY DONATION TO THE FESTIVAL TAX DEDUCTIBLE?
Yes. Media Arts Center is our 501 c3 fiscal sponsor and donations are tax deductible.
WHO BENEFITS FROM MY DONATION?
Your tax-deductible donation ensures a successful Festival event, allowing us to focus public and media attention on pet adoption options countywide by creating a large, visible and united voice for adoption advocacy on Festival day.
The Festival is in service of pet adoption by hosting free of charge all San Diego County breed-specific rescue groups and shelters with adoptable dogs in order to increase their individual and collective visibility, their good work to rescue, rehabilitate and find homes not only on Festival day but year round for homeless doggies.
The Festival is free to the public and strives to educate the public on issues pertaining to animal safety, health and responsible pet ownership. The Festival is dedicated to increasing public attention on the issues surrounding pet homelessness in an effort to encourage the public to get involved helping rescue groups and shelters in their day to day efforts to save pet lives and achieve positive change.
Please note that the Festival fundraises in order to create and host the actual festival event. We do not fundraise year round, or for the purposes of “supporting financially” individual rescue groups. We fundraise in order to pay for the normal expenses incurred by creating a large public event.
We are lucky enough to have unpaid volunteers who generously donate enormous amounts of their time, talent and skills in order to be of service to their community through their work on this festival.
Considering this economy we felt fortunate in 2009 to be able to pay our expenses. Additionally the Festival made a donation to PAWS (Pets are A Wonderful Support) San Diego County, Inc. Our hope in 2010 is to launch “Other Projects” please visit that link on our website for more information.
